The Blue Hawaiians – Penetration ( USA surf instrumental )
Montag, den 19. Juli 2010The Blue Hawaiians are a surf-rock group from Los Angeles. They formed in 1994 to play at the opening of their friend Michelle’s club, The Lava Lounge. They rose to fame soon thereafter due to the rise of one of their earliest fans, Quentin Tarantino, and an appearance on the soundtrack of the hit TV show Friends. The group have since released several albums which have generally fared well with critics. The band also does music for the hit cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants and their song The Cheat was featured in an advert for Guess Jeans. Current band members include: Mark Fontana, Erik Godal, Mark Sproull, Maxwellvision, Gary Brandin. The band are in a self-described semi-hiatus but continue to play infrequent live shows, including appearances at the annual Tiki Oasis music festival. Maxwell, also known as maxwellvision, lives in a tepee on a mountain in malibu. He is creating music with his son Nathen, the bass’st from flogging molly and together they will be touring end of 09 and 2010

The Trashmen – Malaguena USA instrumental surf early 60′s )
Samstag, den 10. Juli 2010The Trashmen’s major notable hit was 1963′s “Surfin’ Bird”, which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the later part of that year. The song was a combination of two R&B hits by The Rivingtons, “The Bird’s the Word” and “Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow”. The earliest pressings of the single credit the Trashmen as composers, but following a threat from their legal counsel The Rivingtons were subsequently credited as composers. It was later recorded by many artists, including the Ramones, The Cramps, Silverchair, Pee-Wee Herman, Equipe 84, and even the thrash metal band Sodom. It has been used in several movies and television shows (such as well-known scenes in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket and John Waters’ Pink Flamingos). It is featured in the soundtrack in the video game Battlefield Vietnam. More recently it has been the subject of a 2008 episode of the animated series Family Guy, launching the song to #8 on the iTunes Top 10 Rock songs chart and #50 on the UK Singles Chart in 2009.

Mal was Klassisches… Chantays – Pipeline (Video)
